IT'S HERE! The Howard & Erna Soldan Dog Park The Friends of Greater Lansing Dog Parks is a not-for-profit organization with an all volunteer membership made up of dog lovers just like you. Our goal is to create and support public, off-leash dog parks for the greater Lansing area. The park is made possible largely through a generous donation by Howard Soldan II and Soldan's Feeds & Pet Supplies. Hours: We operate year-round on the same hours as Hawk Island park. Hours depend on the season:
Cost: The dog park is FREE. Soldan Park is owned by the City of Lansing and operated by Ingham County Parks. Membership fees and donations to Friends of Greater Lansing Dog Parks support maintenance and development of dog parks. Parking: Hawk Island park does charge for parking on weekends from Memorial Day through Labor Day. There is a $2 per day fee for Ingham County residents and $4 per day fee for all others. Thanks to the generosity and neighborliness of Ingham Regional Medical Center, we have been able to arrange to use their Pennsylvania Campus parking lot - the one closest to Scott Woods -- on weekends. Park employees will have maps to hand out at the entry gate to Hawk Island or you can download one from our website. Please place the handout on your dashboard to show you are parking in that lot while you are using the Soldan Dog Park. What is there to do?
Park Rules
Location: The Soldan Dog Park is located just north of Hawk Island County Park. The dog park's main entrance is through the park. You may also access the park from the west off the River Trail in Scott Woods. Drive to the very north end of Hawk Island parking area, and then walk a short distance (with your dog(s) on-leash), past the Hawk Island Maintenance Building, to the main entrance of the Soldan Dog Park.
