- Never leave young children alone with any dog in any situation, even if it is your dog.
- Keep your children away from unfamiliar dogs.
- Never allow children to play or sit on the ground when dogs are present.
- Keep children close and quiet when visiting the dog park. Actions and movements by children can trigger a dog's instinct to chase and bite.
- Remember that you are visiting a DOG park with your children; it is not a playground or children's park.
- Bicycles, strollers, skateboards, skates and motorized vehicles (except park maintenance vehicles) are not allowed in the dog park.
- Be sure to park your bike outside of the dog park entrance.
- Bikes should only be used for entrance through the west side Scott Woods gate.
- Use of the dog park is at your own risk.
- Take responsibility for the actions of your dog.
- By state law, you are responsible for damages or injuries inflicted by your dog.
- Report serious incidents to Ingham County Animal Control.
- Suggestions when situations arise:
- Offer to pay for vet bills, doctor bills and replace damaged property.
- Persons involved in incidents should exchange names and phone numbers and file an incident report.
- Witnesses to incidents should identify themselves to the dog owners.
