Major just went to his first dog swim at Hawk Island on May 4th 2007.

Hi.  I'm Max.  I am 14 ½ years old.  I'm a mix and I was rescued from the CAHS at the tender age of 5 weeks.  I've been with my family a long time and I've seen young pups come and I've seen young pups go. Except for Nala.  She's my sister.  She's recently come to the realization that I am not her dog, we are both dogs.  She's dealing with it.  I think she'll be okay.  I think it's funny.  I am probably the most relaxed dog you could ever meet.  I am so relaxed that while sleeping I have caught my masters coming up to me and holding their hand up to my nose to check to see if I'm still breathing!  They think I don't know they're doing that but I do! I just smile and continue with my nap.  I, too, am looking forward to going to the park and getting a little exercise in!

Hello, my name if Nala (as in the lioness on “The Lion King”).  I am a Bull Mastiff and I am almost 10 years old.  I have just now after all these years begun to come to grips with the fact that I am a dog, a big dog not a lapdog, AND, that I am not a human being.  I thought Max, my brother, was MY dog.  I always hide behind him when there's someone at the door, I rest my head on him as if he was a pillow, and I automatically assume I am going somewhere when my family starts loading up the car and that Max is staying.  But, that is not the case.  I am proud to be a dog and to be loved as much as I am loved by my family.  I love my brother, Max, and we're definitely looking forward to having a park completed dedicated to us.  Now that my older siblings are all grown up and starting college, I know my masters will have enough time to take us to the park!!
